GENERIC WELLBUTRIN DOESN’T MEASURE UP

I have heard from several patients who are concerned about the recall of generic Wellbutrin XL 300mg tablets. The TEVA generic brand has been recalled because it is ‘weaker’ than the branded version. There is no danger with the medication, but for those patients who require this medication to control mood and who need to have consistent blood levels, it appears that the generic brand by TEVA is not adequate.
Other generic brands and other dosages are all considered fine right now and they are being checked more closely.
If you are doing well on your current dosing of medication, there is no cause for concern and no reason to change at this time. If, however, you feel your medication of this particular dose is ineffective, be in touch to get an alternative.
