LOW PROTEIN DIET IS BETTER…EVEN IF IT CAUSES WEIGHT GAIN

A new study in JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) found that people who take in their extra calories as protein (meat, eggs, nuts) gain as much weight as those who take in those calories as starches, but they gain less body fat.
This supports the idea that more starches and sugars (soda, potatos, breads) leads to a fatter body, more so than more calories (or the same amount of calories) taken in as protein.
So….when you are picking something to indulge in for those extra calories, try to reduce the starches and get more fats and proteins (nuts, meats, dairy).
That said, if you can avoid the extra calories completely, of course, it would be best.
